Melancholia Artificialis
Photography, Installation
An installation staged in a glass Aquarium filled with curious objects such as kitsch figurines, artificial flora and miniature buildings and bridges. The ‘artificial kingdom’ created made reference to the Victorian era and their obsession with re-creating nature in the form of aquariums, paperweights and bizarre re-constructions. Photographing the installation through a masked out lens created a dreamy, spherical utopia.
